MISCELLANEOUS FOOD
- Ziyad Added 1/9/24. Always worth buying. My family's been buying this stuff for, well, since they immigrated here from Israel. This is a Palestinian brand. Get the picture? The whole region needs to calm the fuck down. I am in complete agreement with their statement on the About page of that site. Whole situation is some bullshit. Both sides are suffering, btw. Carnage... mayhem. I'm on the side of all the civilians and people trying to protect civilians in the entire region. I'd also like to point out it's pretty hard to hate someone who's consistently fed you safe, great food for many years. Just saying.
- Sunridge Farms They sell bulk foods. Much of the stuff in the bulk section of assorted stores is actually from this brand. It's generally very high quality. Added 6/19/23
- Organic Valley The best dairy originating from the United States. The best eggs. If you eat these things don't fall for the nonsense about any other US brands being better. The only dairy that's better is Irish Kerrygold. And that is it.
- Kerrygold
- Pamela's Products For those of you who can't for whatever reason eat gluten. If you really want a recipe to work, this is the stuff. It is expensive, but it's also the best.
- Blair's Death Sauce Pure Death Sauce. Hot sauce that is for frying your taste buds into oblivion. It's vegan.
- If you don't know this yet, then here's something my friends and family have been relying on for a while. Amish food store or source, or really any Amish producer of goods near you? You can rely on that! Go there, stock up.
- Chunks O' Fruti Frozen Fruit Bars Popsicles made of fruit, juice, sugar, and natural flavors. Pretty high in fruit content. Apparently obtainable at Walmarts.
- NEW 7/15/22 Yami Asian food store, delivers to all 50 states via decently priced shipping. Do you find yourself saying to yourself "there is no Asian food store near me, WHYYYYY WHY WHY WHY WHY?!!!" well fear not. This has everything but the fresh, frozen, and refrigerated stuff. Importantly they also sell moon cakes and many of the other delicious snacks that you can get from Asian food stores.
- NEW 8/30/22 Po Wing Online Another Asian food store, and this one seems to have a larger selection of moon cakes and other hard-to-find stuff. Lots from the Chinese mainland too. Awesome.
- NEW 6/26/22 Tocabe Collection A bunch of different products produced by Indigenous folks. Cornmeal, balsamic vinegar, cedar smoked salt, and more. Take a look.
- NEW 6/26/22 Seka Hills This business sells affordable almonds, olive oil, wine, honey, vinegar, and beef jerky. It is owned by Yocha Dehe Winton Nation and they seem to put good effort into being environmentally friendly.
- NEW 9/11/22 Patagonia Provisions As an example, the link takes you directly to canned mussels. Expensive, but I'd be willing to bet quite delicious.
- NEW 6/26/22 Ramona Farms Tepary beans, garbanzo beans, wheat, corn, all non-GMO and raised in the Gila River Indian Reservation in Arizona.
- NEW 6/26/22 Bow and Arrow Brand Non-GMO cornmeal products grown by Ute Mountain Ute Tribe. They sell cornmeal and polenta, but not instant masa harina, hominy, tortillas, tortilla chips, masa, or other stuff like that.
- NEW 6/26/22 Virgil's In theory, these keto sodas are better for you than whatever you've been swilling down. In theory, they taste good. Will try.
- NEW 7/6/22 Urban Nut Roasters Do you have a need for those cinnamon sugar-coated almonds and cashews and so on? Look no further
- NEW 7/6/22 Welsh Baker Welsh tea cakes
- Sunbutter Sunflower seed butter. Way better than it sounds, and a 1:1 replacement for peanut butter, for those of you who may have been eating so much peanut butter you've been feeling like you're made of like 1/3 peanut butter 2/3 human. Been there, done that.
- Lotus Foods This company uses a revolutionary method of growing rice that involves not flooding the paddies but growing it more like other grain crops, resulting in well, less mosquitoes and less environmental impact. And the noodles are amazing. If you want rice, too, this is a great company to get it from.
- Dave's Killer Bread Bread made by people who just came out of prison. It's actually great bread. Though it's not possible to get it aside from using Instacart online, you can usually find it in most stores.
- King Arthur Baking For baking anything, this is an extremely reliable company. Their gluten-free flour blend is the best on the market afaik. My family and I like using it to make fruit crisp. Here's their gluten free section
- Enjoy Life Foods Basically anything they make is pretty healthy and tasty also. Oh, and vegan. They cater to people who have severe food allergies, too, so if you've got any of those, this is a safe bet.
- Amy's Kitchen Not to be confused with Amy's Baking Company, which is what I did when my brain did the thing. Anyway, they only sell their meals through a middleman online but via said middleman you can get the goods in many places. All meals are vegetarian, some are vegan. I highly recommend their vegan (and if needed, gluten free) frozen pizza. Also their entire vegan food frozen dinners line is pretty great.
- Dr. Bronner's Magic Chocolate Ah, this company. They could probably sell boiled shoe leather and I'd buy it. Joke. It was a joke.
- Dr. Bronner Coconut Oil If you like eating this stuff, it's good to cook with. My family and I like to mix it 1:1 with extra virgin olive oil and use it as massage oil. Helps with aches and pains.
- Alter Eco Foods This is the good stuff when it comes to chocolate. You gotta try it, because the unassuming wrappers don't reveal the gourmet chocolate beneath. They sell 100% chocolate as well, so diabetics can have that kind. It's actually so well made that it's not bad even without sugar. Plus they use regenerative organic agriculture.
- Frontier Coop Market Frontier Spices expanded. Boy, did it ever expand. Now it has beauty supplies, food products from other affiliated companies, and more.
- Healthy Baking Company They make what used to be called Heart Thrive snack cakes, and now they're still the same stuff but with a different name. They make more things now also. I used to eat these for breakfast, a lot. Takes at least two packs to fill up.
Equal Exchange Chocolate, coffee, tea, and in some stores, bananas 5/20/24 Decided to get political about Israel's whatever-it's-doing with Palestine in that whole situation in a really obviously biased way. I'd look into it more carefully but they're not even based in the Middle East. WTF. Maybe can we isolate that region's disease of intolerance to the psychos there (and they are a minority on all sides of the conflict btw just the loudest ones) instead of trying to expand that stupid Hatfields and McCoys war?!
- Bob's Red Mill Grain products and flours
- Veiji Shop Vegan food store online. High shipping costs but that's every store these days almost.
- Clif Bar Portable food bars. One of my favorite survival foods.
- Alternative Baking Company Vegan cookies that are dangerously addicting. You have been warned. Their seasonal offerings are pretty amazing too.
- Alternative Baking Company Gluten Free Cookies Same thing, but gluten-free.

- GTFO It's Vegan Another vegan food store online.
- PlantBelly Another vegan food store online. This one seems to have more variety.
- Miyoko's Creamery Vegan fake dairy, and not that expensive anymore
- Srimu Vegan cheese subscription boxes with New Age marketing and subsequent high prices
- Almondina Thin cookies
- Wisconsin Cheese Order it online here. Not good for the environment, but included because it also kept my family and I going in March 2020. 12/3/22 Beg pardon. The exact merchant I used was Wisconsin Cheese Mart. Similar name.
- Tanka Bar Bison jerky. Obviously, not vegan. Infinitely better than the stuff you get at the gas station.
- Sunbutter Sunflower butter
- Red Lake Nation Foods Wild rice produced by Red Lake Nation and other products
- Thunder Island Coffee Sold by Red Lake Nation, and some of the best coffee money can buy.
- Living Earth Herbs High quality herbs and spices

- Frontier Coop Good herbs and spices
- Until food with enough heme iron becomes easily available inland, if you choose to or have to eat meat, I recommend meat from one place only: Texas. Especially beef, there's no point buying beef from anywhere else. Getting it shipped frozen to you is still preferable, as is eating the jerky. It's the best money can buy. The culture of the state makes it so that the animals are treated very well until well, you know. I should know. I live here. If you want to try things like bison, or jerky, I'd recommend Tanka Bar, or stuff from northern states which raise grass-fed bison, which is at least indigenous to this country unlike cows.
- Bigelow Tea Currently one of the best brands on the market. Highly recommended. If you sip the stuff a lot, buying in bulk might be the best option
- Wines For Mothers Nonalcoholic wines. This link takes you to their organic and vegan wines section. If you use Amazon pay, and have Amazon Prime, then it seems to have free shipping.
ACCESSORIES RELATED TO FOOD
- Igloo Coolers To ensure food stays food on long trips this is pretty much indispensible. Well, this and a whole lot of both ice packs and frozen foods in said cooler, plus proper packing skills. Also sells lunch boxes, drink dispensers, and so on. You've probably seen these used at football games.
- Insulated food carriers From Sterno. If you'd like all the casseroles or whatever you made to arrive to their destination and not be stone cold, this is nice to have.
- Stanley Thermoses, coolers, and lunch boxes.
- Nalgene Freeze water in half of one of these while laying the bottles horizontally, then fill up with drink of choice for a cool refreshing drink on a hot day.
- Yeti Have not tried this yet. It is an Igloo competitor.
