Web Hosting
- Best guide to starting a website ever written: The Woks of Life article One of the many reasons to follow that website/blog. Hot damn, it's well made.
- Krystal Green web hosting in the UK
- Eco Hosting More green web hosting in the UK. They do seem to have wordpress installation included.
- Green Geeks "Green" web hosting in the US; uses carbon offsets, not renewable energy sources (yet). Comes with Wordpress installation.
- Ko-fi They have a "shop" and a "commissions" section, which seems to be really useful for people who wish to sell art, music, or other unique goods or services. Give it a look if you want to commission something or sell something.
- Buy Me A Coffee A direct competitor of Ko-Fi. Used to function as a donation jar. Now also allows creators to sell goods or services and to offer commissions.
- Patreon For hardcore creators; this is a subscription platform to support favorite artists, musicians, and so on. Priced out of range of the average consumer in most cases but some of the best and most creative people are on this. My guy and I love Rank10YGO.
- Shopify Not a very ethical company afaik, employee burnout for days, but probably the easiest way to start and run an ecommerce website. Especially if you don't have the time or patience to program and wrestle with it. Also: Wordpress is a pain in the ass! Wix is another option.
- Vimeo In case you wanted to start a Youtube channel but really don't like Youtube, this is an alternative
