Understanding This Website and About Me

3/3/23 Well, it finally happened, this website has grown enough to necessitate a page like this. There's a lot of weird shit in here and I feel like it's a decent time to explain at least some of it, provide a roadmap of sorts.

Some uh, information that might be good to know

• The only thing this got from the MacGyver TV show is inspiration. Otherwise it has nothing to do with it.
• For updates, there's now, as of 5/19/23, an updates page here
• There's a lot of Boomer bashing in here. Such a large amount of the Baby Boomer demographic really did turn out to be such pieces of work that they became infamous, so there's a reason for the term. In some sections I state things like sexism, racism, socialism, and excessive privilege and spoiling created the Boomers. I stand by that. However, not all Baby Boomers are Boomers. My husband came up with the best definition of Boomer that we both agree on: "Boomer is an attitude in a person that prevents any sort of development of the human race towards something more positive." Or, "I classify Boomer as anyone who actively obstructs the betterment of humanity." It's been my experience that those Boomers that managed to avoid well, being Boomers are actually anti-Boomers, so to speak, and they're pretty great. But it has also been my experience that there are very few of them.
• I have chronic Lyme disease, and several other problems including PTSD. As such, my memory, emotional regulation, and cognition are not good. If I did not have these things, I wouldn't be sitting around adding to this website, ironically enough. I'm aware that I have all sorts of issues, and can present facts with unnecessary emotion and detail. Take what you need and leave the rest. In most cases, (minus antivaxxers/Qanon, the people I wrote a poison pen letter to and the list of people I think need to die) it's my issues on the page, and I don't have them with you, so I hope you do not take it personally. In future I plan to get some good therapy but finding a therapist is nearly impossible. I've crammed the mental health section with a lot of stuff, and it helps, but honestly not enough in my situation, cause I have seen some shit. Once I get therapy from (sigh) someone professional, it's likely this website will change a great deal. If you are part of the medical cadre or layman demographic that insists chronic Lyme disease doesn't exist and is "woo," consider the possibility that you are a terrible person. Honestly, so much of modern medicine and the people that believe in it is inherently toxic, from the hazing required in medical school and residency, to the positioning of doctor-as-god, to the for-profit model that doesn't give a crap about managing or treating chronic conditions as long as you avoid a malpractice lawsuit, to the serious lack of long-term and large-scale studies on serious conditions and really any currently-unprofitable conditions done by any research body without a vested interest in pushing a product. Finally the sad situation that a patient's medical record does not automatically travel from doctor to doctor, and said doctor probably has dealt with too many people with mental health issues and drug problems to give a shit anymore, not to mention unscientific morons thinking that (for instance) drinking bleach is brilliant, so you're more likely to be laughed off about a serious condition you have had for decades just because the records aren't there and the good doctor has no more fucks to give. Consider that maybe, just maybe, people with chronic illnesses or conditions aren't cosplaying just to malinger and get opiates and disability benefits, especially because visiting a doctor costs a pretty penny. THIS IS NOT A FUN SITUATION IN LIFE TO HAVE. I am alive for several reasons: 1. Divine intervention (really) 2. A whole lot of research and painful, grueling rehabilitation work on my part and help from my family, and 3. Really good emergency room doctors. But no! Clearly I'm just making this all up. *facepalm*
• As a result of said situation, I have neither credentials nor degrees. Most of the stuff on this site is stuff I learned the hard way and share with you so that you do not have to. Also, most the stuff in here required many years of research and experimentation. So it's not actually just stuff I think would be a good idea, but a lot of this is based on real life experience.
• If you're super religious, then you're really not going to like this website. Cut your losses. Don't bother.
• Since it's just me working on this, a lot of the sections aren't complete. Over time, I add to them, but again, it's just me, TortillaTortilla, with some brilliant saying or other from my husband from time to time, so it is going to take a while.
• 7/6/24 Regarding the MacGuyver TV show, I've watched all the episodes and recommend it. It's great and super uplifting. However, you know how MacGuyver is canonically against gun toting? Bear in mind this character has never actually faced down true evil (except for maybe a couple of times with Murdoc, maybe a couple other villains, and it's all small peas compared to what I've been through). I certainly have and as such can say with conviction the only answer to that is to kill. Not for an ideological difference or for some stupid war that someone told you to go fight. I made a list of people I think deserve the death penalty here. Before the Russia-Ukraine conflict I was on the fence about death penalty versus life in prison. Not anymore. For some things, without just circumstantial evidence and with good evidence of deserving it? Death penalty.

• Not plugged in to the news. It often reaches me late if ever... and this is by design. It's pretty terrible for my mental health to be plugged into it 24/7. For instance, I added all the stuff today 5/26/23 before I heard the police brutality news... yeah I'm feeling kinda sick now

• 8/7/24 Musician, but not going to perform for anyone outside my immediate family anytime soon if ever. And here's why. Every person that decided to flay my mind and rape it, and every person that betrayed me and went out of their way to ruin my life, and every person that decided to shit all over anything to do with my music just because they could and not because it was bad. You know who you are. And now you know why. Look around and you'll see a very large assortment of other people who have decided to not share their gifts with the world for very similar reasons. Ok, shitheads. You win this one. Enjoy not having nice things.
